Solid Hardwood
Normally flooring is installed according to the nature of place and room. Different kind of rooms has correspondent different kind of flooring. Such as hard wood flooring is suitable for dinning rooms and laminate flooring is for bath rooms.
In laminate flooring production plywood is coated with a layer of veneer. Plies and thicknesses depend, but three ply, 3/8 inch flooring is most common. Here it is noticeable thing that solid hardwood floors at 3/4 inch are twice in thick as wood laminates. Commonly 1/8 inch thick veneer coating is applied on laminate floor, can be sanded and refinished in rare cases.
There are some distinguishing features of hardwood and laminate flooring is as follow.
Laminate flooring is really very easy to install. Hardwood is more difficult, and wants more care, but includes a greater value to the home. Laminate is not as sensitive that to changes in temperature make affect on it, but it can be smashed by water. Hardwood can be refinished, but laminate cannot. Laminate floors combine a realistic feeling of wood and tile with an extremely durable finish. These floors have become a well liked
alternative to real wood and vinyl floors. The richness of a natural hardwood floor can add warmth and give luxurious look to any room. Today wood floors available in various species and colors than ever before and with appropriate care hardwood floors can use for lifetime.
Laminate Flooring:
- Laminate flooring is not real wood
- Extremely scratch resistant
- Will not fade in sunlight
- Does not require waxing or polishing
- Not easily repaired
- Much less expensive than hardwood flooring
Hardwood Flooring:
- Solid wood is more at risk to change in environment so it is not recommended for kitchen and bathroom
- Wood floor can last for the life of the house
- Will change colour over time
- More easy to repair and frequently refinish able
- Non allergic
- Range in prices from $3 to $100 per square foot
Completely laminate flooring may use a decoration technique that provides a real texture similar to real wood grain. It may be tough to differentiate between real hardwood and laminate flooring when it is fully installed.
